After taking Foxbury around the country for 9 years I decided to retire it and take the opportunity to do something new. Foxbury will appear again though but with improved track standards and a general overhaul. The new project is inspired by the Limpley Stoke to Camerton branch of the GWR, the setting for the classic Ealing film "The Titfield Thunderbolt". Anybody who has visited the area to trace the route cannot fail to be captivated by the beautiful scenery. Combine that with a 14XX tank loco gently ambling along as per the film and you are hooked. To model Monkton Combe (the station used in the film) would have been nice but would be somewhat limited in its operation. For the purposes of my model "Dunkton Combe is" imagined to be somewhere between Dunkerton and Camerton and passenger services still survive by 1955. No trains go beyond here any more though as the buffer stops installed before the level crossing testify. |

W19 was built from aWorsley Works kit a few years ago but has just been fitted with one of the super motor bogies available from 3SMR. It is shown here running into the station under the road bridge adapted from the one formerly located at Dunkerton Colliery Halt on the Camerton branch. |

For this layout I adopted the system of using cassettes made from aluminium angle (mine came from B&Q). It dramatically reduces the handling of stock and therefore the damage this causes. |
